Haunting new video from Penelope Trappes. As she says: - The visual is a melancholy gothic fairy-tale about a mother searching for her daughter (played by my real-life daughter) and showing her what she needs to know about her lineage to be a force in the world. When I wrote the song, I was thinking a lot about how I came from a line of extremely strong and Inspiring women who have bravely pretended to be satisfied and content, but faced acute difficulties in life. I have felt their suffering, along with my own, which takes the form of a scar on my right hand. In an attempt to stop the perpetuation of reactionary behaviours, I have come to grips with my own epigenetic lineage in the hopes that my daughter doesn’t have to. -
