GusGus & Bjarki - Chernobyl

"The music album Sounds of Chernobyl is a modern rethinking of the well-known Chernobyl disaster by musicians who told the stories of Chernobyl from different angle s in each track. All the compositions of the album are united by the audio library "Sounds of Chernobyl" — a collection of sounds of the Exclusion Zone, which were recorded by me and the ARTEFACT project in 2018 and included: the crackle of the dosimeter, the Ferris wheel's squeak, the noise of the Red Forest, echoes, the sound of the running water, and technical sounds". - Valeriy Korshunov, art curator of the project and producer of the album

Sounds of Chernobyl is an Ukrainian project, musicians write music using samples recorded in Chernobyl and they are welcome to visit the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone as the inspirational trip. GusGus and Bjarki released their Chernobyl-related songs last October. Bjarki even managed to visit Chernobyl, despite the global COVID-19 pandemic.
