since our B2B set @ WAMP a lotta ppl are asking me about MIDI sync
basically you can do it with a MIDI interface
but there are cases when you don’t have MIDI on your devices
this is when M-Audio’s MidAir comes handy
even for wireless synchronization

THE SWITCH!

lads ‘n gents I made the SWITCH
from now on I will use a MacBook to DJ and make music
and from now on I’m able to use my mighty beast
the Stanton SCS.1m digital mixer with my customised Ableton setup

this is the new Simon Iddol DJ setup on the pix above

first days with the KRK Rokit8 monitors

as you know it already
few days ago I got a pair of yellow faced monsters
since then I’m one of the happiest artists in this planet
I started to use them just before NYE
here are my first experiences

- they are BIG and heavy (15 kg per unit)
and the boxes are a lot bigger live than on any picture
think about a pair of mini fridges on your table
don’t get it wrong, it’s a great thing
they are catching the attention of anyone who enters the room

- their sound is MEGA
very clear, bangin’ and balanced
they sound great on low and high levels too
actually I’ve discovered new sounds in my own tracks

- you can feed them via RCA, XLR or 1/4” TRS
I’m using 1/4” TRS - XLR cables, but they are great with RCA’s as well

obviously few days are not enough for a longer test
I will let you know more later on
but the main thing is
I get inspired just by listening music on these bad boys
and you know what it means ;)

and now my studio table is officially small :)

let me introduce my new friend to you
yuppp, my Samsung Galaxy Tab has arrived an hour ago

will write more and longer about it later
but here are my first impressions
- it’s a bit bigger and heavier than I thought
smaller and lighter than the iPad for sure
it’s about the size of a DVD case, but narrower
- I’ve only used it with wifi and for an hour but I’m stunned
it’s powerful, fast and addictive
- typing on it is great, much much better than on a phone
- it’s extremely responsive, games are HUGE FUN
- but the real killer function is web surfing, in one word: WOOWWW

now I gotta go
you know, more testing :D
